As usual when it comes to my turn to introduce myself, the same creeping thought always finds it’s way back into my head; “Well poop. I don’t have a nice, long, interesting name to start my introduction with. Everyone has some “longer” or “cooler” name like, Kendral Griffin or like Harry Potter or like Katniss Everdeen (you know what I mean)”. It’s kind of a weird thought to have actually, and it’s not exactly useful but, for some reason I always start introductions with that in my head.
Anyway, back to the introduction, I’m Rachel Choe; a senior Marketing and Management double major, currently wrapping up my undergraduate degree at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. I’m not from here though, I’m actually from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and I transferred to the US in the fall of 2012. So it’s been 2 years since I packed up and left everything but myself behind and come to the States and it’s been a real interesting journey for me. The actual purpose of my creating this blog is actually for my Online Marketing class but for a deeper purpose, I’d really like to share my experiences as a transfer student in the United States and my daily adventures here. Also, I’m kind of a foodie, so expect some food talk in the near future 😛
I guess I’ll end my little introduction here. On a side note, when I come to think of it, my name is pretty unique, even for where I’m from. “Choe” isn’t exactly a very common surname after all (or at least not that I know off). So I guess I shouldn’t be having these weird thoughts. But I’m only human I suppose!
Keep posted for more updates 🙂
